  My Uncle is staying in Ayletts for a while while he gets over a nasty chest infection. We visited him the other day as we had been informed our Aunt had passed away and wanted to make sure our Uncle was okay.
  It's a beautiful building sited near the entrance to Brromfield Hospital.
  We were welcomed into the home but a very friendly manager and deputy manager who had a short chat with us and showed us through to my Uncle's room. While we were there we were offered several cups of tea, sandwiches and scones with cream and jam. It appears they do this sort of thing for visitors normally but did feel the staff were slightly more attentive because of the situation which was lovely.
  My Uncle seems happy to be here which is the most important thing and the room he had was nice, warm and bright. The staff were all friendly and are happy for residents to visit them in the office for a chat and if a residents door is open they always say hello when they pass.
  We didn't get to look round the whole building but the impression was very good, it didn't smell like an old peoples home (we have worked in many) and it was well decorated.
  If we ended our time in a care home, this is the sort of place we would choose.
